Rose Hip Seed Oil

I'm on a never ending quest to find the miracle product to help with my acne and acne scars. Yeah, that thing that's supposed to leave when you get out of puberty. Yeah, that thing. It's been with me since I was 12. I'm nearly 30. Enough is enough!

No doctor has been able to tell me what is causing it and how to get rid of it. Oh, sure they prescribe pills and creams- some of which are so toxic that you can't even think about getting pregnant, because you might seriously screw up the baby. You know that's something I want to take (insert sarcastic snicker here).

So, in good conscience I had to stop using the "cream that can kill your baby" and try to find something else that would work. I still use coconut oil and it has been great, but it is not the miracle product I was hoping for. So what to do now.

During one of the"classes" I attended during our vacation I learned about a product that I never knew about-- Rose Hip Seed Oil. It apparently works wonders on wrinkles and scars. I saw some before and after pictures of both acne scars and wrinkles. I got excited. Maybe this is just the product I need.

I went to my local health food store, Harmony Farms, and bought some. Actually this is the exact product I bought. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago, so it hasn't had time to produce any drastic results. But I have faith that this will help with some of the scarring and keep away some future wrinkles.

I will report on the results as I use it for the next couple of months. I think this is a worthwhile product to research for scarring and wrinkles. It's a natural oil produced from the seeds of a rose bush and full of Vitamins A and C and essential fatty acids. Many beauty products use this oil, so why not go directly to the source without any of the other added ingredients.

Keeping my fingers crosses that this will prove to be beneficial.

I'll have to look into the rose hip seed oil as well.

I had perfect skin (save for a breakout or two) up until my junior year in college. Then it all went down hill. LOL! I recently ran out of my Proactiv and have been using African Black Soap, which is supposed to be good for all type of skin problems, including acne.

It's pretty cool, because you can use it as a shampoo and body cleanser as well. It dries out your skin, so I follow up with unrefined shea butter as moisturizer. Shea butter also has tons of benefits, vitamins A and E, and is a natural sun screen. I figure, if it's good enough for the Africans...

I need to use it more to see both products' true effects, but my skin hasn't gotten any worse. If this stuff helps clear my skin and fade the spots, then I'm ditching Proactiv forever. That stuff is so expensive, and I don't like the idea or putting those chemicals on my skin (even though they're not harsh to me).

I hope the rose hip seed oil produces so good results!

hey, i didn't realize you struggled with acne, it's not evident in any of your photos!
a friend of mine has had very bad acne since puberty, some getting so large and painful that he had to have them lanced.
on the advice of a friend he quit eating dairy and his acne is nearly gone.
i know from personal experience that it is no fun to make drastic changes to your diet... but it may be something to consider.
better than the deadly creams! :)

Somebody else suggested cutting out dairy, and I'm thinking I'm going to take the plunge. It's ridiculous and I need to do something about it!

Confession: I photo shop some of my pics to take out the blemishes and my makeup does a good job of covering scars!

I tried cutting out dairy once. I lasted week! LOL! Milk is hidden in A LOT of products. Rice milk was okay for cereal, but I found out that I am allergic to soy milk. Skin problems are a challenge, I know. I'm sure you'll find the best path for yourself. :-)
