The Fear Farm

Ooh, can you just hear the creepy music playing??

Grant and I, Meridith and Marty and Mark and Kelly went to the Clayton Fear Farm last night. It was so much fun. We went through 5 haunted "houses," the dark hole and a corn maze.

Mark, Kelly, me and Meridith pose at one of the "eyes" of the corn fields.

Grant coming out of the "dark hole."

We were just chased out by demented clowns with chain saws. Fun good times.

Um, Grant, watch the hands. No wonder he looks mad

THE FAIR- Part 2

This was one serious goat- he defended his hay pile with much vigor.

I've never seen a hairless donkey. Ain't he cute though?

Oh, I so touched the rabbit, even though I was not supposed to!! Just call me a rebel.

Get your head out of the gutter people-- it's a brain.

And last but not least, a ride. It was so cold, but tons o' fun.

THE FAIR- Part 1

Here we are at the fair

My favorite part . . . roasted corn. This is the healthy part of the night!

Where else could you find scratch 'n sniff pickle stickers.

Ginormous pumpkins.

My favorite cow. He wanted to come home with me, but Grant wouldn't let me take him. Oh, you sweet brown cow. My wish for you is to live your life out on a pasture filled with non-pesticide treated grass.

Harris Teeter the purchaser of a champion turkey-- does anyone else find this disturbing?

The Fair, The Fair, The Wonderful, Wonderful Fair

This is what I sing every year as the N.C. State Fair approaches. I love the fair. It's crazy and smelly and there are a lot of strange people walking around. It's the only place that I can eat a corn dog and funnel cake while viewing cows, smelling organic vegetable glycerin soap, listening to squeegee demonstrations, and picking up a pickle scratch and sniff sticker within a span of 15 minutes. Grant and I and our two good friends, Marty and Meridith, went last night. Oh, and it was cold . . . so very, very cold.

I ate entirely too much junk food and even went on a ride this year (normally don't so I can use all my money towards MORE FOOD)!

Anyway, pictures will follow of our little adventure. And be forewarned, there are lots of pictures of cows, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, but mostly cows, because I am drawn to their sweet little faces. I want a brown cow for my backyard. How now brown cow.

Pics to follow.

Why is it . . .

That postal workers seem to hate their jobs? I'm serious-- they are not helpful or very nice for that matter. I apologize if you are a postal worker-- these are just my observations. I have never ever had a good experience in a post office, and I try everything in my power not to go there. That's sad, because the people at the front are in a customer service oriented job. Seriously, people, if you don't want to help people then get another job. I get having a bad day, but this is is a constant thing. They are about as bad as clerks in the courthouse or the DMV workers. Oh, I did not just say that. Oh, yes I did. I better be quiet, before people start saying anything about paralegals.

Just my thoughts for the day.

Girls Night Out

Rhea invited me to go to G105's Little Black Dress Party at the ESS Lounge. They were giving away 5 designer purses and we went their with high hopes!! Sadly, we did not win, but we had a good time with the other 400 girls in black dresses.
Me and Rhea
By the way-- Happy Birthday Rhea!
Even though you are taller than me with my tallest shoes on, you will always be my little sister!

A sea of black dresses (and various shades of black)!

Rhea's sweet husband, Chris, got us a rose and chocolate for our night out-- nothing better than that after a crappy day at work! Thanks Chris!

And we topped the evening off at PF Changs.

What a fun evening out.

Poinsettias for Sale

Wow, I thought I was done with fundraising!

If you live in my area and would like a poinsettia for Christmas- then I am the one you want to see! This is a fundraiser for my dance company, Rainbow Dance Company. They and I would appreciate any help!

I have red, white, pink and/or Candy Cane available. They are $13 each and will be in on December 3 (I will deliver them to you shortly after that).

Candy Cane variety- pretty, no?

Just let me know-- I would so appreciate being able to serve your poinsettia needs!

Sideways Video

This is the first of many random videos I'm sure. I just wanted to see if I could get this thing to work. Yeah, it's sideways and completely random (for lack of a better word), but at least I have video capability.

Lunch

I am absolutely stuffed. We just had lunched catered at our office for one of my co-worker's birthday-- yum!! I had a vegetarian wrap, chips and salsa, lemon bar, chocolate/raspberry/cream cheese brownie and am on my second cup of sweet tea. Remember my last post about caffeine? This will make for an interesting afternoon. The treadmill will be working overtime tonight.

That's it.

Bye.

I blame the randomness of this post on the caffeine and the need to do something with my hands.

New toy for me (and Grant of course)

I am not a person who loves the newest, neatest, technologically advanced gizmos. You would laugh at the "old" cell phone I have and I am totally fine with my small tv from college (HD tv, umm no, not even close). The majority of "that stuff" just doesn't excite me. But, there is one thing that I will spend money on and this one thing will make my insides tickle, and that is a . . . . CAMERA. And I just got a new one! Woo hoo! And it also takes video (stop the madness, I know). And it is small (oh my gosh, too much to handle in one day)!

My other digital camera is rather large (digital SLR), so it is hard to discreetly take it places (not that I mind looking like a tourist at the State fair and Applebees, but you know, I got to draw the line somewhere). Oh, but this new camera is small and compact and I can put it in my purse!!

Fair warning-- there may be videos of my cats, crazy dance moves, the delicate and fine art of playing Wii and other such nonsense. You have been warned.
